Andy trained at the top two mime schools in the United Kingdom The Mime Centre and The Desmond Jones School of Mime. Andy is renowned for having one of the best mime techniques the UK. He first started as a street performer in Covent Garden. In 1982, he co-founded Man Machine a robotic mime act. In 1983 Man Machine won the first Time Out "Street Performers Of The Year" competition. Man Machine toured the UK extensively and appeared on many television programmes as well as pop videos for Pauline Black and the Polecats. They also toured Ireland, Germany with a residency in the Hyatt Hotel in Dubai. In the summer of 1985 Andy co-founded Nebular, which used a mixture of dance, mime and robotics. Again Nebular performed all round the UK and abroad in Finland, Holland, Singapore, France and Germany. Nebular even performed in The Daidogei World Cup (a street and theatre competition) in Japan. Even though Nebular ceased as a double act 1992, Andy continues to use the Nebular name for his successful solo act . In 2001, he formed Les Hommes Sans Noms for the stand-up circuit with a fellow performer from his street performing days, Jim Woodcock. Les Hommes toured the London comedy circuit for a year and a half and even got a special commendation at the Hackney Empire, "Best Of The New Acts Of The Year" competition. Les Hommes sans Noms can still be booked for events and details about the act can be found on the Nebular character page. For the last couple of years Andy has been performing in the corporate entertainment area of the business. He has also worked on the film "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers", body doubling for Geoffrey Rush. In 2006, Andy went out to Dubai to perform at the newly opened Kempinski Hotel as well as performing for Her Majesty The Queen at Buckingham Palace. And keeping with a royal theme Andy has also performed for a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family. As well as the usual corporate work, Andy has taken part in the filming for a new television program for the BBC "Not Going out" and also worked on the sequel to the film "28 days later" called "28 weeks later".
